No one knows how it started and the rumors are all over the map. Biological warfare from a terrorist. Mutated strain of a bird or swine flu. Voodoo curse. Wrath of God. Wrath of Allah. Radiation mutations. Monkey bite. Military experiments. Some even say it's simple evolution. Either way it started one year ago.

Z Day they call it. The first incident was in the Avenal, California prison. Initially, it was reported as a prison riot and no one panicked when it was over. The government kept everything quiet while they investigated. Little did they know people who had been affected by the attack went home and it spread.

We all know how these things go. Shortly after the entire town was infected... then more towns in the U.S. popped up with the infection. And towns and cities in other countries quickly followed.
